Welcome to Parakeet Island - an exciting adventure for the whole family.  Whether you’re planning a child’s birthday celebration, an evening with someone special or just looking to have some fun, Parakeet Island will have what you are looking for.  Fun activities, good music, food and refreshments all presented in a warm Caribbean atmosphere that will make you feel like you’ve been transported to a tropical paradise.

What is Parakeet Island?

Parakeet Island will be a place to escape reality and enter a whole new world that will take you far away from life’s everyday tasks.  Parakeet Island will be a Family Entertainment Center like the Quad Cities has never seen.  The people at Koko Island Apparel have the words that describe Parakeet Island best. “A mystical place in all our minds. That place where we can relax and enjoy a tropical atmosphere, with palm trees, grass huts, clear blue lagoons and waves pounding on white sandy beaches.”   We're just adding the attractions, activities and an immersive experience that will stir you imagination.

Where is Parakeet Island?

Parakeet Island will be located in Moline, Illinois.  Details and construction schedules are now being finalized.

What can I do at Parakeet Island?

You will be able to enjoy your favorite foods at the Beach Dog Snack Bar,  Island Cafe' or the  Bango's Beachside Grille  (future expansion).  You will be able to visit The Beach and dance and listen to music of all types at special events while enjoying a tropical smoothy or try your luck with a round of golf on the Island Cove, an 18-hole adventure miniature golf course, but watch out for frequent rumblings under foot. Volcanic activity may be in the near future.  Make it to the 18th-hole and hop aboard Parakeet Island's very own Albatross seaplane.  In the event your life style is a little too fast for golf you will be able to take a fast paced drive a round the Beachside Raceway.   Our electric karts make for a fast and quiet ride without the smell of gas engines.  Bowling is also available at Volcano Alley an adventure bowling experience in itself.

The  Hidden Lagoon (To be added in the future) will be available for your own private pool party.   You can also reserve your own private tiki-hut for small gatherings or birthday party.

If you enjoy shuffleboard or maybe a game of cards or checkers under a palm tree, the Parakeet Island staff will be able to help you organize a number of activities for guests of all ages including birthday celebrations and beachside parties.  Special events, concerts, beach parties, special kart races and miniature golf tournaments will be held throughout the year.

If shopping is what you desire, you will be able to visit the Parakeet Island gift shop where a variety of gifts and apparel will be available. Parakeet Island will offer apparel and gifts from Caribbean Soul and Koko Island along with items from some of the Quad Cities best artists.

Enjoy your favorite cup of java at the Island Cafe' while listening to live performances by local musicians both young and old.

If you fancy dancing, attend one of our dance workshops for tap, funk, salsa and more.  Maybe sign-up for music lessons or join the Parakeet Island Production Company and participate in the areas most exotic music and dance ensemble.

Large parties, receptions, recitals, concerts and craft shows can be held on Main Street, Parakeet Island's 5,000 sq ft. conference center or in one of two 2,000 sq. ft. Island Center meeting rooms.

What will I do after leaving Parakeet Island?

You should spend the last few moments of every day imagining life in paradise. Follow your dreams. If you can’t find your life’s treasures, you might need to return to Parakeet Island for another dose of escapism.
